2. The Sorting Hat

After you’ve gone through and purged what you’re not going to bring with you, you can start to mentally sort each room. Taking note of items and pieces that would require additional packaging supplies, insurance coverage, and more can help make things that much more efficient and organized.  Having your moving boxes sorted by room is a great way to help make unpacking that much easier, especially if you put it off for months like the rest of us!

4. Use it or Lose It

When you’ve packed up each room, one of the things that is easily forgotten is food. Your fridge and pantry are one of the last things you’re thinking about when moving. Try your best to plan your grocery trips a few weeks in advance to ensure you use up all your frozen and perishable food before moving!
